For our long-term client we are looking for an AI Engineer (m/w/d).

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months with the option for extension

Workload: 100%

Location/Remote: Berlin / FFM / Vienna and remote - hybrid

Language: English

Tasks:

Design and develop AI and GenAI solutions tailored to specific business use cases
Develop RAG solutions, fine-tune LLMs, and build data pipelines integrating internal and external data sources
Design, deploy, and integrate LLM-based and agentic AI solutions into business workflows
Set up and manage databases, vector databases, knowledge retrieval systems, and LLM frameworks
Optimize AI solutions in terms of performance, latency, scalability, and cost
Evaluate and integrate suitable open-source frameworks, third-party libraries, models, and AI tools
Develop rapid Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and transform successful prototypes into production-ready solutions
Take end-to-end ownership of AI projects, from initial concept and prototyping through to production release
Continuously evaluate emerging AI/GenAI technologies, models, and tools
Collaborate closely with consultants and business stakeholders to translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions
Contribute to the engineering culture by sharing knowledge, research, best practices, and technical learnings

Requirements:

Profound experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years focused on AI/GenAI
Proven experience designing and developing applications using GenAI models, including commercial and open-source LLMs
Hands-on experience deploying and integrating LLMs into business workflows
Strong programming skills in Python
Practical experience with AI/LLM frameworks such as Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, and LangGraph
Strong knowledge of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and knowledge retrieval systems
Experience with high-performance LLM inference, model monitoring, and optimization
Working experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, as well as CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of data privacy, model safety, and Responsible AI practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop reliable, production-ready AI solutions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a comparable field
Fluent business English
