ALM Consultant

Whitehall Resources are looking for an experienced ALM Consultant for an initial 3 month contract.

This role is currently remote, however, please bear in mind that the client is based in Shropshire and some on site presence may be required later down the line

Role description -

A business and technical hybrid role. The ideal candidate will have good business analysis, technical and communication skills with experience in working in Agile Teams and expertise in Atlassian tools and Marketplace apps.
They will support customer workshops and proposals, provide tailored configuration solutions, carry out technical health checks and manage software upgrades.
The role may include a degree of travel with client on-site work.

Task description and tasks -

- Provide subject-matter expertise and best practice solutions on Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Processes and Tools.
- The candidate will need to be a certified administrator in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and have working experience in Atlassian Marketplace apps such as Xray, Big Picture, Advanced Roadmaps, Tempo, Insights, EazyBI
- Consult with senior stakeholders to understand both business and technical requirements to shape solutions to meet the desired business outcomes.
- Download software, provision environments on both Private and Public cloud and run proof-of-concept exercises.
- Evaluation and assessment of new releases of existing tools and new tools to ensure they are fit for purpose both technically and commercially.
- Support approval of apps for inclusion into technical roadmap.
- Lead and support proposals, business case development including financial, commercial and contractual consideration.
- Lead and perform health checks on Atlassian environments including platform, database, and applications.
- Knowledge and experience of Atlassian Migrations to on-prem and cloud environments.
- Support pre and post sales opportunities through customer workshops presentations, demonstrations requirements gathering.
- Provide training, knowledge share on Atlassian tools, best practices, and solutions.

Technologies -
- Experience and knowledge of software delivery life cycle management and the Atlassian tools to support the delivery processes. Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
- Experience and knowledge in ALM and CI/CD. Use of Atlassian tooling to support ALM and CI/CD processes.
- Certified Jira and Confluence Administrator - ACP100, ACP600, ACP200.
- Working knowledge of Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira Service Desk, Crowd, SSO.
- Experience and knowledge in Operating systems and Database technologies.
- Able to perform application health checks and migrations.
- Experience and knowledge of cloud platforms.
- Atlassian Marketplace apps and business implementation of apps such as Xray, Big Picture, Advanced Roadmaps, Tempo, Insights, EazyBI.

Technical skills -
- Knowledgeable about a range of project delivery tooling and how they support the delivery life cycle. Administrator certification of Jira and Confluence.
- Also, knowledge of other Atlassian products and expertise with key apps Xray, Big Picture, Advanced Roadmaps, Tempo, Insights, EazyBI.
- JIRA, Confluence.
- CI/CD tooling Bamboo, Bitbucket.
- JIRA Query language and Confluence Macros.
- Analytical skills, decision making, forward thinking.
- Business Analysis and requirements management.

- Presentation and communication.

Essential Technical Skills
- Knowledgeable about a range of project delivery tooling and how they support the delivery life cycle. Administrator certification of Jira and Confluence.
- Also knowledge of other Atlassian products and expertise with key apps Xray, Big Picture, Advanced Roadmaps, Tempo, Insights, EazyBI.
