Description
An urgent role has arisen for an Asset & Configuration Manager to assist with 3/6 month contract based in Nottingham/remotely.
As the Asset and Configuration Manager you will be the subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the overall management and delivery of the Hardware and Software Asset and Configuration Management end to end process.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the creation of the entire Configuration & Asset Management operation from initial start up to BAU operation (strategy, process etc.) and ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met
- Work with the Change and Release Manager, Major Incident and Problem Manager to ensure all processes are aligned as per ITIL best practice
- Define and communicate the service Asset Management policy and standards across the business
- Make it a priority to ensure assets are uniquely identified with naming conventions and that IT personnel comply with identification standards
- Work alongside the IT Service & Operations team and help deliver the population of the asset register and configuration management database
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of Asset and Configuration Management processes

Essential Skills:
- Strong established background within an IT Asset and Configuration technical and services management role in an outsourced environment
- Skilled in taking the lead in Asset and Configuration Management within a fast-paced and ever-changing tech environment
- Demonstrable knowledge in IT Service Management processes (think configuration, incident reports and change etc.)
- Skilled in defining, documenting, and implementing Asset Management and Configuration Management processes for both hardware and software Cis
- Proven ability and experience in introducing ITIL processes
- ITIL Service Lifecycle Management Processes - ITIL v3/4 Certifications
- Previous experience with IT Service Management toolsets (eg, Service Now, Microsoft SCCM)
- Knowledge of/experience in the technologies that support ITAM (CMDSs, auto-discovery, SAM tools)
- Up to date knowledge on Assets and CMDB models and methodologies
- Knowledge of licensing agreements involving software
