Azure Architect

Whitehall Resources require an Azure Architect to work with a key client, working remotely.

*Please note that the successful candidate will be required to use an FCSA accredited umbrella company for the duration of the contract*

Job Description:
* The client is currently seeking an innovative, technically talented Lead Engineer - Azure who can influence the architecture community and design solutions for major initiatives within our Azure PaaS team.
* The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and driving the technical direction of the Enterprise Azure platform and providing technical expertise in designing and implementing cloud solutions across the IT organization. The candidate will be a strong technical leader with a broad software engineering background. They will have extensive hands-on experience implementing and applying Azure tools and capabilities to increase quality, improve security, increase developer efficiency, and accelerate speed of delivery.

Responsibilities:
* Accountable for the Enterprise Cloud Strategy and Architecture Roadmaps for the Security, Networks & Environments Pillar - encompassing Cloud, Test Environment Readiness, Infrastructure-as-Code, Secure by Design, Service Virtualisation, Secret Management and Network Interconnectivity spanning the entire breadth of the SDLC - ensuring that the selected solutions and frameworks deliver best-in-class capabilities.

Required Skills:
* Understand the technical, financial, organisational requirements/constraints and work closely with the product teams to land and expand cloud-enabled solutions.
* Design, write Infrastructure as Code (CI/CD pipelines, ARM templates, Azure policies, Scripts/Runbooks/WebHooks/Tools) to Manage/Operate end-to-end life cycle operations (monitoring, alerting, security, governance, cost optimization, updates, configuration, backup & disaster recovery, etc) to meets customer SLAs.
* Working on Microsoft Azure PaaS and IaaS, specifically: App Services, Azure SQL Database, SQL Server IaaS implementation, Availability sets, Azure Networking concepts, Express Route, DNS, Load Balancing, Storage.
* Knowledge of automation tooling to facilitate CI/CD approaches to IaC
* Strong skills in areas such as Docker, Kubernetes, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS to name a few
* An understanding of Postgres or other enterprise database platform
* Ability to orchestrate and influence virtual teams; Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences at different levels of organizations.

Preferred Qualifications
* Azure Solution Architect certification.
