Backup Administrator - hybrid/WFH position
My client urgently seeks a Backup Administrator for an immediate start in Portugal.
The following remit is deliverable:
- Install and configure software for data protection Servers and related components.
- Establish replication between different locations.
- Understand network routing and Firewall requirements to ensure backups utilize dedicated backup infrastructure.
- Develop and deploy automated solutions to meet operational and SLA objectives.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to backup issues and outages.
- Possess strong documentation skills and the ability to train junior staff in day-to-day data backup tasks.
- Provide recommendations for design improvements and cost reduction.
- Generate reports for clients and Servers.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations to support storage backup.
- Have experience working in large storage environments with formal change management practices.
- Familiarity with Networker and Data Protector, including recent versions.
- Experience with Data Domains.
- Familiarity with iTSM Remedy and Helix.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Additional knowledge of backup software such as Veeam and Commvault is desirable.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in installing and configuring backup infrastructures.
- 3 years of mid-level proficiency in Networker.
- 3 years of mid-level proficiency in Data Protector.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
