Overview


  • To support and facilitate the Finance business by monitoring the Fortis and Group systems (availability, completeness, incident management, 1st level controls "general accounting vs cost accounting", load of applications downstream of the OFS system (One Financial System), monitoring of accounting closing periods)
  • To provide the necessary support to the population of Finance users and back-offices in Businesses, in the use of different tools and by ensuring the follow-up of incidents to the Group's teams.
  • Monitor the different reporting channels of the Finance business (Liquidity, Solvency, Local Reporting and Management Control)
  • Coordinate and monitor the accounting closings in terms of availability, completeness, and performance of the various accounting chains from the sending of data by the Businesses to their integration into the reporting chains.
  • To provide support to the Finance teams during ad hoc problems whose resolution is decisive for compliance with accounting closing work.
  • Creation and support of "a priori" controls on data quality in order to anticipate problems in reporting chains.
  • Participation in cross-functional discussions (or even taking charge of certain subjects on behalf of Finance Group) at Group level to support the evolution of finance needs and systems.
  • To ensure the evolutions and updates of the Finance repositories and the interdependencies with the repositories of other businesses.

Function Description



    • Monitoring of accounting and management flows, of the availability of the various tools supporting accounting reports and controls
    • Data consistency and completeness checks. Management of a SharePoint to ensure "online" communication to all users of Finance systems and tools (Finance and other Businesses)
    • Operational and functional support during accounting closings (monthly and quarterly), also playing the role of point of contact for two group entities.
    • Ensure communication relating to accounting closings to all stakeholders in the Finance business.
    • Provision of accounting and management information for the other teams of the Finance Business Line (Accounting & reporting and Management control) Incident management and role of helpdesk in support of the entire OFS population (use of tools, debugging 1st level, etc ...)


Required experience / knowledge.      



    • Experience with complex financial accounting system landscapes
    • Analysing techniques and methods
    • Good expertise in MS Office (Excel/Access)
    • Good understanding of IS and testing.


Business Experience - Mandatory   



    • Good understanding of workflow processes (closings)
    • Good understanding of accounting logic (IFRS, BGAAP)
