Business Data Analyst, XML - Investment Bank
My client is a leading Investment Bank based in London. They are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team on a contract basis for an initial 6 months contract. Responsibilities include cross functional analysis across multiple projects and assistance in the delivery of the necessary components. This will include the capture of business requirements, both functional and non-functional, along with detailed analysis of data requirements and candidates should be experienced in Datamodelling with XML/XSD and particularly, FpML.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance in the Business Analysis phase of multiple projects
- Capture and translation of business requirements and creation of functional, non-functional and data requirements
- Documentation of requirements in (eg Requirements Stories in JIRA).
- Analysis of data requirements in line with XML/XSD modelling, specifically FpML
- Logical Datamodelling
- Identification of common data requirements to help drive shared data platforms.
- Data Mapping
- Support of end to end testing and production delivery.
Key skills:
- Good understanding on financial messaging and data
- Experience in Datamodelling - XML/XSD/FpML
- Proven experience of full involvement in project life cycles within Investment Banking.
- Experience of system testing and guiding users with building their functional plans for user testing.
- Proven experience of data mining and investigation.
- Experience in data migration processes.
- Business analysis within an Agile development project.
- Strong data analysis skills to ensure accurate system data extracts and reconciliations working with large datasets.
- Proven track record of writing structured business requirements and functional/non-functional specifications.
- Working knowledge of financial instruments: government bonds, exchange traded futures, interest rate swaps, repos, stock lending and equities.
Desirable skills:
- Experience in liaison with vendors in resolution of technical issues.
- Working knowledge of MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Footprints, JIRA.
- Familiarity with MS SQL Server for data analysis purposes.
- Familiarity with SDLC processes and tooling.
