Pay rate: £40.00 p/h inside IR35.

location: Filton, UK

Role Type: 12 Month contract with extension

Position: Hybrid

IO Associates seeks a Buyer for the Filton site. Join a global aerospace leader specializing in commercial and military aircraft, helicopters, defense, and space sectors. This role offers a chance to contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic team shaping the future of aviation and space systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Procurement activities, negotiating contracts and establishing supplier frameworks for optimal purchasing conditions.
  • Manage supplier contracts throughout their life cycle, ensuring adherence to terms and driving supplier performance across logistics, support, quality, and cost.
  • Act as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining supplier relationships and overseeing projects to maximize customer value while minimizing costs and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop commodity strategies, conduct market analysis, and support global sourcing initiatives, while also ensuring accurate financial forecasting and risk management.

Skills required

  • Strong procurement background required, although applicants with solid business knowledge and familiarity with procurement processes are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a diverse, multi-functional work environment.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing stakeholders and influencing internal teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, including the capacity to engage with senior management effectively.
  • Knowledge in commercial operations, contract management, and finance principles is advantageous.
