Overall purpose of role
You will form part of a key development team, fulfilling tasks in design, development and test in a fast paced and ever changing environment on Real Time systems where reliability and security is paramount. As part of an Agile development team, you will be actively encouraged to offer opinions and influence at all stages to produce software the team are proud of.
Key Accountabilities
Design, development and testing of payment applications
Development of automated test suites and automated deployment for payment applications
Contribute to a self-organised, empowered agile team and its approach to development
Definition and description of Features and User Stories
Promote innovation
Support existing and new applications from development through to production
Contribute to the infrastructure as code way of thinking.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Strong experience of software development in a commercial environment using C and C++
Embedded programming
Secure Coding
Appreciation of Object Oriented Design & Object Oriented Programming concepts
Familiarity with the concepts of automated build, test and deployment processes in an Agile working environment
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
University qualifications in Digital, Computing or Technology related subjects
Experience of software development within the Payment Industry
Experience working in a highly regulated environment; appreciation of the importance of compliance, security and quality
Experience of working with Git and/or BitBucket source code control systems
Experience of working with Jenkins
Knowledge of Scripting languages such as Bash, Python
Experience of participating as a member of an Agile development team.
