Category Specialist - 5 month contract initially - Competitive day rates - Leading Technology & Telecommunications organisation - Dublin
Our client is a leading Technology & Telecommunications organisation based in Dublin who are looking to recruit a Category Sourcing specialist to join their team on an initial 5 month contract.
This fantastic opportunity will be responsible for the development and execution of category management strategies, supplier relationship management, negotiation, risk management and supply base performance management.
Duties will include:
- Responsibility for the Managed Services Category. Leading global cross functional teams in the development, communication and approval of sourcing strategies
- Responsible for leading global cross functional teams through the supplier selection process and for the approval of selected suppliers (identification of potential suppliers, RFx development and execution, proposal evaluation against business requirements and total cost of ownership, and supplier selection recommendation)
- Responsible for negotiation planning and contracting with suppliers
- Responsible for executing supplier relationship management activities for key assigned suppliers within the assigned category's
- Year-on-year financial accountability for assigned category's with respect to price movement
- Responsible for ensuring that category strategy's result in and generate roadmaps of savings and value streams
Experience:
- Ideally you will hold solid experience within a similar role
- Strong negotiation and cost management practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced matrixed global environment
- Project Management in a complex multi-project environment
- Lean Six Sigma experience is desirable
- Proficiency with SAP & Microsoft Suite applications
