Chief Engineer - Contract - Bristol - Fantastic Rates!

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the Engineering function contributes to the overall Programme procurement approach is the approach is cognisant of the evolving Architectural and Systems design. Provide advice on the contracting mechanisms required to ensure the evolving Architecture and Design meets the objective of being vendor agnostic at the end of the transition phase.
  • Ensure Systems Engineering processes are effectively implemented (internal & external) and that associated tools and techniques being used to develop and demonstrate the system are used universally across the programme to confirm that all technical teams are operating from a common baseline and that all data/information is effectively exploited rather than duplicated).
  • Review the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and report to the Programme Manager on the likelihood that the Technical schedule can be met. Ensure that options which can either improve the schedule or rectify issues are presented alongside the report.
  • Establish and maintain a close day to day working relationship with the Transition Partner's chief engineer; enabling early identification of issues and successes.

  • Communications experience (knowledge of BOWMAN preferred)

  • Systems Architecture (Electrical, Mechanical and Software)
  • TRL, SRL and technology growth/exploitation management
  • Interoperability/Interfacing Standards
  • Device Integration and Reliability

  • Flash Report provided to Engineering Management Team
  • Monthly Engineering Status report to Project Manager
  • Input to Risk Management process
  • Engineering maturity and Technical Issues status reports
  • Engineering status and Engineering issues management briefs
