Cisco UCS Engineer, VMWare ESXi, SAN/Storage, Cheshire, ONSITE ASAP, Outside IR35, £Good
We are seeking a Cisco UCS/Systems engineer to support our client who are upgrading their infrastructure. The site is based in Northwich, Cheshire and will require onsite presence for 2 days.
The Role:
The following tasks to be performed during the timeframes are outlined just below:
- Upgrading the current UCS Firmware to latest version
- Ensure the correct ENIC and FNIC drivers are being used for the firmware and ESXI version.
- Perform the replacement of both the Cisco fabric interconnects with new 6454 models (this will be performed out of hours to prevent business disruption)
- Install and configure the new B200 M6 Blade Server, including boot from SAN and integrate with the VMWare cluster
- Ensure connectivity of hosts to the correct storage LUNs for optimal performance
- Remove/decommission the end of life (EOL) blade from both the Cisco UCS and VMWare environment
- Rack, stack and cable the UCS C220 M6 at the site, ensuring it is physically installed and connected.
The Person:
- Previous experience in a similar role upgrading data centre infrastructure.
- Cisco UCS experience
- VMWare vCenter/ESXi experience
- Familiarity with SAN/Storage
