Position: Cloud DB Operations Engineer/Senior Operations Engineer
Duration: 6 months
Location: Los Gatos, CA
*NOTE* looking for those with 6-7 years of experience. 5 years experiece is ok too as long as candidate has the aptitude to work in a 24/7 environment and can perform at a high caliber.
The Cloud Database Engineering (CDE) team at Netflix is responsible for data modeling, stability and other operational aspects for the databases we host in the cloud.
The CDE team plays a critical role in providing both architectural direction and ongoing operational support on cloud persistence databases for our engineering efforts.
We’re looking for a Cloud DB Operations Engineer/Senior Operations Engineer who can work with the team on day-to-day operations on database systems in cloud with uptime being primary goal.
This position requires deep understanding of database concepts and support skills with a 'can do' attitude
REQUIREMENTS
If you have:
Experience in Cassandra and/or NoSQL database operations
DBA level knowledge in Cassandra and/or MySQL
Participated in 24x7 on-call rotation
Ability to diagnose problems in complex database systems
Ability to understand the impact of database changes and/or installations to production systems
Experience in developing, testing and deploying database bug fixes
Great communication skill to complement excellent technical expertise

Perl, Python, Ruby or other Scripting language experience
Experience with cloud-based development a plus (Amazon AWS)
