Collections Project Coordinator
Description:
Subject matter expert on handling denials; denial prevention and understands claims/appeals follow-up processes for the Commercial, MediCal and Medicare FFS and managed care plans.
Performs other duties as directed
Top Daily Responsibilities:

Work with Internal Auditor and Denial Prevention Team to review existing authorization denials on our Accounts Receivables

Assist with Root Cause analysis of such accounts

Prepare presentation of such findings to Executive Leadership and Revenue Cycle Directors

Provide training packages to Revenue Cycle Directors and/or the facilities to assist with the reduction in authorization denials.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years in the healthcare collections industry

Understand state regulations related to denials, ie Knox Keene Act, Department of Managed Healthcare

Bachelors degree required

Great writing skills
-
Median Microsoft skills (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)

Analytical skills

Epic system knowledge is helpful, but not required

Must have insurance hospital collections background

Understand insurance appeals processes

Commercial, MediCal, CCS or Medicare FFS or HMO knowledge required

Good customer service or communication skills
