Commercial Waste Officer
Our London based Client is seeking a Commercial Waste Sales Officer to join their Commercial Waste Service team. The Commercial Sales Waste Officer will be required to win contracts and increase market share Commercial Waste Service. You will be required to proactively engage businesses and highlight the benefits of the council commercial waste service, achieving sign up, or a switch to a commercial waste contract with the council.

Job Duties:
- To undertake proactive Sales of Waste Service contracts and also to maximise the proportion of the contract given over to recycling as opposed to residual waste.
- To ensure that businesses without a commercial waste contract are informed that they must by law have a contract for their waste to be removed.
- To assist the commercial services support team in certifying the work of contractors in the delivery of commercial related activities ensuring that the highest possible standards are maintained at all times, assuring effective enforcement of the Environment Protection Act and related legislation through appropriate use of the regulatory practices and procedures.
- To use established contract compliance/monitoring techniques to ensure the highest level of service is being delivered.
- To have a working understanding of the environmental legislation that supports the services within the business unit.
- To work in partnership with the contractor's supervisors to ensure resource input levels are deployed as set out in the contract method statements and that agreed service standards are being achieved.
- To collate evidence gathered from various sources and direct support to the Environment Directorate's contractors by identifying and providing evidence to combat impropriety.
- At all times to provide a seamless service response to any issues raised by residents, businesses or our service recipients ensuring that all matters are resolved to our customers' satisfaction.
- To ensure all appropriate aspects of health and safety are applied as directed and in consultation with the commercial services and contracts support manager.
- To establish appropriate links with the contractor's local supervisors and those other officers responsible for managing the public realm to ensure contractual service standards are met.
- To assist property owners/managers to manage their wastes appropriately, ensuring waste hierarchy principals and environmental impact is considered.
- To attend and make contributions to a weekly debrief Meeting.
- To have good oral and presentation skills, in order to be able to make presentations in all forms to a diverse range of stakeholders. To be literate to the degree that the officer can produce accurate information, letters, work records and draft responses to customers.
