Description
Sr. Configuration Manager wanted for 3.5 month contract in Ann Arbor, MI. This immediate need requires four or more years’ experience in a configuration or release management position.
Overview:
Execute configuration management activities associated with product releases as a member of the Configuration Management team. Ensure the quality of healthcare products by implementing basic configuration management procedures to build and release software products. Work closely with Development, QA, and Operations to implement release processes throughout the entire product development life cycle.
Responsible for overall execution of build and deploy activities in QA and production environments.
• Maintain the build system and create automated build scripts and procedures.
• Administer and customize/extend SCM tools; train internal users.
• Recommend CM process improvements.
• Negotiate and coordinate project milestone dates with team leaders, Engineering Managers and Program Managers.
• Participate in specification document reviews as required.
Required Skills:
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical manuals and high-level requirements documentation.
• Able to assume role of CM expert for specific build and deployment methodologies, automation tools, or architectures.
• Experience with build tools such as ANT or MAVEN; scripting languages such as Perl, UNIX shell.
• Experience with SCM tools such as Subversion, Mercurial.
• Experience with Continuous Integration servers such as Jenkins
• In-depth knowledge of Windows, UNIX platforms
• Work experience with the following technologies: Oracle, SQL, or Informix; Java/J2EE; Cognos.
Desired:
• Experience with VMWare setup/administration
Education:
• 4 or more years’ experience in a configuration or release management position.
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience in a related field
