An opportunity has arisen with a major public sector organisation for an Contracts Manager on an initial 6 month contract.
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for undertaking a handover with the incumbent contract manager and then lead a team responsible for managing contracts worth around £150m.Undertake a review of the current service offering on both contracts to establish where there may be efficiencies and/or other ways of providing the service. This role will undertake effective ongoing contract management, manage risk, actively seek continuous improvement, efficiencies and savings and make use of technical experts as may be required. Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure early involvement and influence in relation to risks, issues and forward planning.
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Contracts management experience (particularly commercial services) within the public sector
- Experience of successfully developing, procuring and/or managing complex and high value contracts
- Undertaking contract negotiations with suppliers in order to deliver on areas such as cost savings, quality improvements or improved delivery timescales.
- Engaging with and influencing internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve shared aims and benefits.
- Experience of project and programme management tools and techniques (preferred)
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience (preferred)
