Description

Data Analyst - Data Hub:

As part of the Data & MI team you will be providing data analysis that enables compliance to all data policies & standards, the provision of data in order to support business and IT solutions as well as delivering data & reporting requirements. You will be also be responsible for designing & developing solutions through build, test & implementation phases. This will include ongoing business support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop awareness of all strategies that relate to data in order to appropriately align effort with this direction. Including specific training to prompt data literacy.
  • Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverage and develop teamprofile
  • Contribute to developing awareness of data across the business in order to ensure the highest standards of compliance. This includes highlighting Data Quality issues & Data Governance best practice
  • Carry out project-based Data Analysis and Data Management activities; Catalogue and Profile data, manage and contribute to Data Governance Forums and drive understanding of data issues through toresolution
  • Respond to data related questions and enquiries, using available data tools and procedures and ensuring adherence to our company's defined processes and best practice guidelines
  • Support the identification and documentation of reporting and data requirements for work activities, projects etc. and ensure compliance with best practice/internal/regulatoryguidelines
  • Facilitate the design, development and implementation of a fit-for-purpose data solutions for thebusiness
  • Provide technical support to our end users on the use and application of data warehouse information and educate them in the usage of the reporting and analyticaltools
  • Build and maintain strong productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets businessneeds
  • Participate in internal meetings in order to share and develop knowledge and bestpractice
  • Agree project-based activities in line with projectgoals

Required Compentencies/Skills:

  • Business analysis and requirements gathering skills, including the ability to interpret and align multiple stakeholders' requirements
  • Data Analysis experience and skills around Data Discovery, Data Profiling, building and maintaining Data Glossaries, Data Dictionaries, contributing to Data Governance Forums, liaising and driving solutions with the Data Governance Team, Data Stewards and DataCustodians
  • Good communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills at alllevels
  • Some technical BI/MI skills, specifically with data warehouse reporting tools such as MS Reporting Services, Power BI, and/orTableau
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Good knowledge of SQL and relationaldatabases
  • NOSQL database experience would be anadvantage
  • Ability to illustrate business use ofdata
  • Uses effective approaches to remain aware of external factors that influence data usage within the organization
