I am working with a well-known charity based in central London who are looking for a Direct & Digital Marketing Officer to join their Direct Marketing team.

Direct Marketing is responsible for recruiting and developing support for their work from individual members of the public. They use a wide range of channels including, search, social, email and display. The role will lead on the planning and delivery of digitally focused acquisition campaigns to help them reach their challenging targets. This candidate will work closely with their digital hub to manage campaigns and innovate in the area of digital marketing. This role may also support across digital activities for the retention and trading parts of the direct marketing team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the planning process for the acquisition team, taking responsibility for discrete part of the budget and taking a lead in reporting, reviewing and re-forecasting digital acquisition campaigns where necessary.
  • Responsible for analysing digital marketing campaigns as well as overall media performance.
  • Working with the fundraising strategy and analysis teams to ensure analysis that contributes to the objective of the direct marketing team
  • Identify digital marketing opportunities, trends and innovation with the potential to raise more income for the charity.
  • Responsible for managing digital marketing acquisition campaigns in line with planned budgets and targets ensuring campaigns deadlines are met. This will include briefing agencies, overseeing copy and artwork development and fundraising propositions, liaising with external agencies and liaising with their digital hub.
  • Responsible for the implementation of digital marketing campaigns in response to humanitarian emergencies. This requires the candidate to be on call over some bank holidays and weekends
  • Analyse channel performance and trends.

Relevant experience:

  • Confidently managing digital marketing based campaigns, ideally including fundraising experience, across a range of media.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience working with a number of digital marketing channels, ideally including paid social, paid search, video advertising and display advertising.
  • Analysing digital marketing results and contributing to direct marketing strategy, plans and budgets.
  • Proven track record of delivering improvements in conversion, engagement and retention, with an understanding of testing and optimisation principles
  • Knowledge of using a variety of digital marketing platforms and technologies (eg Facebook, SEO tools, PPC management platforms, YouTube advertising platform) and the ability to use analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Understanding of current digital marketing concepts, strategy and best practice, and how they integrate with offline activity.
