An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Applications Engineer / Senior Applications Engineer (depending on experience) to provide first class control system & calibration support to our ECU customers in professional motorsport. Major projects focus on bespoke racing engine and vehicle systems controller integration, supporting our key customers and network of resellers.

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level with ECU calibration experience, ideally in a customer supporting role. Willingness to relocate, extensive travel is a must as a reasonable proportion of your time may be spent on event with customers supporting, training and reviewing our clients' needs.Having a good commercial awareness you will be establishing new and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and be expected to support, develop and encourage new distributers while working closely with the commercial team.

Qualified to degree level in a related engineering discipline
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
Proven engine calibration experience and ability
Mechanical engineering knowledge of racing engines and gearboxes
A dedicated personal interest in engines and motorsport
Willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice
Experience in a customer support role
Familiarity with the motorsport ECU market and customer base
Commercial awareness
Engine dynamometer calibration experience an advantage

The day to day role requires the successful candidate to be comfortable and confident with the following:

X Understanding and successfully communicating, either in person or remotely, with customers of wide ranging
skill sets. This may range from entry level engine builders or race team mechanics that have been given the job
of ECU calibration and system fault finding, to experienced engineers at major manufacturers working at the
highest levels of motorsport.
X Professional demeanour for dealing with executive customers and high level engineers.
X Excellent people skills for building and maintaining customer relationships.
X The ability to interpret customer requirements based on all the facts presented and the desired outcome.
X Ability to set and adhere to realistic timescales for a wide range of self reliant tasks. Keeping to verbal
agreements with customers and not over promising / committing yourself, a colleague or on the company¡¦s
behalf.
X Ability to prioritise work appropriately.
X Project management skills for leading customer relations. Acting as the main contact for specific customers,
recording their demands and deciding on appropriate actions.
X Self awareness and management of self; Understanding how emotions affect your work, often in very stressful
high pressure situations and adapting to reduce any negative effects.
X Ability to offer a clear solution path for customers wanting to improve their vehicle/engine performance.
