1 Project description
The role of the Innovation department is to implement technological solutions to solve existing business
problems. When you find a technology that can solve a business problem, you carry out a proof of con-cept
together with the business stakeholders you’re are managing and, based on its success, launch the
industrialization of the solution, which is then taken over by another department.
Its important for the project to stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and to under-stand the business's needs to develop innovative Proof of Concept projects that address specific business
challenges.
Continuously interact with the Innovation SPOCs (Single Point of Contact) who orchestrate the overall
innovation roadmap and strategic stakeholder alignment per core business domain.
Screen technologies and manage proof of concept projects on technologies such as:
Computational Intelligence and computing power,
Spatial imaging program (drone/lidar/…), Robotics, IoT,
Human-computer-interfaces
Large Language Models,
Satellite Connectivity,
Cyber Security

2 Tasks
• Transform the solution ideas into working prototypes
• Manage projects to ensure that milestones are met in a timely manner
• Manage internal business stakeholders and external service providers to ensure that milestones are met and value is delivered to the business.
• Work autonomously on technical projects on all sorts of digital technologies
• High quality documentation that can be used by Elia Group afterwards
• For each solution implemented, a technical analysis will be provided to assess if the solution is
• relevant or not
• Follow Elia Group’s Innovation governance and budget process which includes transparent report-ing of the project progress at main stages
• Internally and externally communicate about the project success and insights
3 Goal
The goal of this role is to drive innovation within the organization by implementing technological solutions to solve existing business problems. This involves staying updated with the latest technological advance-ments, understanding the business's needs, and developing innovative Proof of Concept (PoC) projects that address specific business challenges. The role is also responsible for screening various technologies and assessing their relevance to the business through technical analysis.
4 Profile requirements
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of various technologies including Computational Intelligence,
Spatial imaging programs (drone/lidar), Robotics, IoT, Human-computer interfaces, Large Language Mod-els,
Satellite Connectivity, and Cyber Security. They should be able to screen these technologies and manage
proof of concept projects effectively.
Innovation Management: Experience in managing innovation projects, transforming solution ideas into
working prototypes, and ensuring that project milestones are met in a timely manner.
Staying Updated: Passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and
understanding the business's needs to develop innovative Proof of Concept projects that address specific
business challenges.
Necessary competencies (must-have)
• Min. 3 years of experience in project management
• English (C1), German is nice to have
• Excellent stakeholder management skills. They will be required to manage internal business stake-holders and external service providers, ensuring that milestones are met and value is delivered to the business.
• Technical Understanding (for example KI),
• Min. 3 years proven knowledge in latest digital technology trends

Volume: 180 days per annum
Work Location: Berlin (NQT), Remote (40%/60%) ; Brussels, Elia Empereur (15& Travel vo-lume)
