A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Engineer to work for a leading Automotive tier 1. Successful candidates will have a proven experience of Control algorithm development and modelling and simulation using Matlab & Simulink.
Electronic System Engineer - Contractor
Requirements for the role:
Mandatory:
- Capturing and analysing customer requirements
- Experience of designing Control Algorithms & strategies in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
- Understanding of C code and Embedded systems
- Provide expertise for investigations and problem solving activities
- Validation Testing on Electronic Test Bench, Engine Dyno & Vehicle
Ideally:
- Experience in the Automotive field
- Understanding of diesel engines, combustion and aftertreatment
- Understanding of Diesel Engine Control strategies, ECU Hardware and sensor/actuator interfaces
- Experience of a production intent auto-coding environment
- Development of Safety Monitoring strategies to the EGAS standard
- Designing system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications
- Clearcase (or similar configuration management tool)
- Experience of Calibration Tools (eg. INCA, ATI Vision)
- Experience of CAN Tools (eg. CANAlyzer)
- Experience of Diagnostic Tools (eg. OBD Scan Tool)
- Experience of requirement tracking tools (DOORS, Reqtify)
- Supporting customer's engine and vehicle testing
- Supporting system and hardware FMEA
- Awareness of the ISO26262 safety standard
- Awareness and integration of Industry trends
Nice to have:
- Calibrating sensor interfaces and diagnostic strategies
- Calibrating servo controls and regulators
- Awareness of the SPICE assessment model
- Developing Validation Tests for dSpace HiL
- Ability to independently, plan and develop a product or engineering component
Education:
Degree Level in a relevant Engineering Discipline
