I am currently seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer/Architect to work with a well-established and respected Space client based in Belgium.

Some key information regarding the vacancy is as follows:

Rate: €55-€65 Per Hour
Duration: 6 months
Location: Near Antwerp, Belgium

The Role
In this position, you will be the overall responsible for the follow-up of design, integration and verification of the electronic system in a satellite project.

This includes:
* Based on higher level requirements, deriving and maintaining of the satellite electronic equipment requirements.
* Preparation and maintaining of the overall satellite electronic system documentation.
* Establishing and maintaining the satellite electronics budgets
* Evaluation of supplier proposals/datasheets and participating to the selection of satellite electronic equipment.
* Determining the satellite electronic verification and test plans.
* Monitoring the progress of suppliers, evaluating the technical work (eg through design reviews) and ensuring the overall consistency at satellite level.
* Ensuring the verification of the electronic aspects of all satellite equipment.
* Participation to the satellite level verification campaign, leading the verification of the electronic system aspects (including environmental test campaign).
* Assisting in the launch campaign and preparation.

Desired Experience
* Ability to size, design, develop, and test LEO/MEO/GEO/Deep Space satellite systems at satellite level
* Ability to select subsystem & products available on the market to achieve targeted performance based on trade-off, new technologies, market trends, company strategy, frequency availability, and cost.
* Ability to prepare subsystem requirements based on performance desired (BER, data rate, frequency, margin on link, ...)
* Ability to prepare unit requirement specification for Transceiver, Transmitter, Receiver, Transponder, Antenna, LNA, RF Switches, RF harness and various other equipment.
* Ability to follow unit suppliers (design, test, delivery)
* Ability to assess, analysis, and decide on best frequency to use
* Knowledge on RF payload for GEO satellite is desirable
* Knowledge on GEO telecommunication market
* Understanding of basic business principle & commercial space mind-set
* Understanding of Satellite market
