Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting an Engineer for an initially 5-6 month contract based in Nottingham.
Essential experience:
- Knowledge of defects and maintenance needs of highway structures.
- Capable in use of word processing and spreadsheet packages.
- Some experience of AutoCAD.
- Good communication skills verbally and in writing.
- Good understanding of the CDM Regulations appropriate to highway maintenance works.
- A sound understanding of structural principals and standards pertinent to highway structures
- Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and the Specification for Highway Works.
- Experience of highway structure inspections
- Experience with contract documents,
- Awareness or use of HE SMIS database an advantage.
Additional qualifications required for this role
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Working towards being qualified or will be qualified Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers at IEng or CEng level.
- Qualified or working towards Bridge Inspector certification in accordance with IAN192/16 beneficial.
- CSCS Accreditation - desirable
- Full Driving Licence
