Position: Enterprise Data Architect
Enterprise Data Architect
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Enterprise Data Architecture team and participate in the creation of efficient and effective data management capabilities to meet Progressives business needs. The Architect will work directly with business subject matter experts and IT groups to document data attributes and requirements and ensure the appropriate controls and verifications are in place for good data integrity.
As a member of the Enterprise Data Architecture team you will:
Create the conceptual and logical models of the enterprise data.
Educate and assist business and IT professionals on data management principles and practices.
Establish and maintain data standards, policies and architectures.
Provide direction, guidance, and oversight for data quality controls.
Identify opportunities for standardizing data descriptions, integration and archiving, and elimination of unnecessary redundancy.
Capture and maintain metadata, creating business rules for the use of data.
Participate in the development of strategies for transitioning applications to a common data model.
Requirements:
The qualified candidate will have a strong data-centric background, with 3+ years acting in a role as a Data Architect or Data Modeler. This will include experience in:
Data Modeling
Data Governance
Data Quality Management
Metadata Management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to present and explain information in a way that establishes rapport and gains understanding.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer expectations
Preferred Skills:
Expertise in Conceptual and Logical Data Design
Proficiency in SQL for DB2 (mainframe), Oracle, and SQL Server
Experience with ERwin or another data modeling tool
Proficiency with Sharepoint/MOSS
Solid foundation in SDM/SDLC process
