Description

Our public sector client requires an Estimator who will be responsible for the compilation and delivery of Client Delivery estimates (£5K - £5M) for submission to Gate Panels for approval prior to submission to customers.

The role holder will undertake the collation, documentation and continuous review of standard costs for defined services to be provided by Organisation, benchmarking against industry standards. The focus of the review of these costs will be to ensure that estimates/projects continue to meet Organisation's cost/margin targets as well as to demonstrate value for money to the customer.

*Due to the nature of the role, DV Clearance will be required

Essential:
* Experience in the compilation of estimates for construction and mechanical/electrical installations
* Dynamic approach to the role, using initiative to help develop solutions within challenging environments and to develop the estimating function within the team

Desirable:
* Able to demonstrate a significant knowledge of modern security, mechanical, electrical and building technology
* Knowledge of Project Management methodologies (Prince 2, APM etc.)
* Knowledge and experience of current IT estimating systems and advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
* Membership of recognised relevant professional institution (RICS, CIOB etc.)
* Experience of the development of estimating databases
Financial & Commercial Performance
* Responsible for the delivery of estimates
* Responsible for the review of estimates by design engineers to ensure they are accurate and accord with the standards and processes and cost/margin targets
* Contribute to the development of estimating systems, processes and standards
* Undertake research and establishment of component/standard costs for services/products within the group for use in estimating
* Contribute to the definition, documentation and implementation of estimating systems and processes
* Continuously monitor and improve processes for estimating to meet targets for improvement of services and productivity of the estimating services
* Contribute to the establishment of historical cost analysis processes and population of database for the improvement of future estimating
* Quality assure standards ensuring that they are implemented and maintained
