Description
An international company in the energy sector, operating as a European transmission system operator, is looking for an IT Solution Lead to support the evolution of its Grid Solutions IT landscape and the implementation of new strategic initiatives. You act as the technical and functional lead for IT solutions delivered through projects and related applications, combining technical expertise, solution design and stakeholder collaboration to deliver digital solutions that create business value. Side by side with other contingent workers and internal staff, you help build a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure that stimulates economic growth and reduces the ecological footprint.
As the technical reference for various projects and applications of the business department Grid Solutions, particularly in program and project planning and resource management, you bridge business needs and technology. You ensure the successful design, integration, delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of both custom-built and commercial software solutions. Working closely with business project leaders, solution architects, developers, testers, suppliers and business stakeholders, you provide technical leadership and coordinate the delivery of scalable, secure and future-proof IT solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for the IT implementation of the assigned projects, taking ownership of technical activities from solution definition through implementation, deployment and operations.
- Challenge, validate and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Contribute to solution architecture and ensure technical solutions meet both functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to internal IT, security and technology standards.
- Coordinate with internal functional and technical platforms throughout both delivery and operational phases.
- Provide technical expertise on software components and advise on technology choices, resource needs and IT budget estimates.
- Lead the build, deployment and operational support of custom-developed solutions, primarily based on Microsoft technologies such as .NET.
- Manage the integration and adaptation of off-the-shelf (OTS) solutions within the broader IT landscape.
- Perform fit-gap analyses and contribute to technical evaluations, RFI/RFP processes and software selection activities.
- Support incident, problem and maintenance management by monitoring suppliers and SLA/KPI performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- You are able to speak, read and write fluently English and French or Dutch.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
- At least five years of relevant experience in technical leadership, solution delivery, application management or IT project implementation, preferably within a Microsoft-oriented technology landscape (e.g. .NET, Visual Studio, SQL Server).
- Good understanding of modern cloud and integration technologies, preferably including Microsoft Azure, APIs, containerization and cloud-native solution patterns.
- Experience with fit-gap analyses, requirements definition and software selection processes.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles, security standards, compliance requirements and IT service management processes.
- You have a good knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and engaging with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, autonomous, customer-focused and collaborative.
- Experience within the electricity sector is considered a plus.

- Workload: 100% (Monday to Friday)

- Duration: until 31.12.2027, 14 months
- Non-EU candidates: a valid work permit and residence permit for Belgium are required
