Description
An international company in the energy sector is expanding its high-voltage grid onshore and offshore to support the energy transition in Belgium and Europe. For the Nautilus project, the second interconnector between Belgium and Great Britain, developed jointly with a UK partner, the Large Projects division is looking for a Program Management Officer (PMO) with a focus on project controls. You will join a team of PMOs and schedule and risk specialists, report functionally to the Program Manager and work closely with project leaders, engineers, technical experts and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Establish and operate an integrated program management approach with a strong focus on budget, schedule, risk, reporting and the coordination of PMO activities
- Depending on the program's needs, coordinate or functionally manage PMO experts and lead regular follow-ups on priorities, challenges and bottlenecks
- Define, maintain and continuously improve the program management framework, including standards and processes for budget, schedule, risk management, reporting and governance
- Support the definition, approval and management of integrated baselines for scope, schedule and budget, ensuring coherence and traceability across all control domains
- Consolidate budget estimates, cost forecasts and risk provisions and provide clear insight into variances and trends
- Facilitate risk and opportunity management, proactively identify potential issues and support timely mitigation or corrective actions
- Facilitate schedule management, including development, integration and maintenance of the program schedule and monitoring of key milestones and dependencies
- Develop and manage clear, consistent program reporting for management and governance bodies
- Ensure traceability between program objectives, approved baselines, progress, risks, changes and decisions
- Coordinate PMO experts and activities, align priorities, monitor bottlenecks and promote constructive collaboration
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a financial, business or technical field, such as business engineering or engineering
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in project or program management; experience in large-scale infrastructure or CAPEX projects is a strong asset
- PMI/PMP or an equivalent project management qualification is an asset
- Strong organizational skills, results-oriented, able to set priorities and act on them
- Proactive and solution-oriented, effective under pressure and comfortable with complex challenges
- Clear and convincing communication, both oral and written; able to translate complex information into concise management insights
- Collaborative team player who motivates others with a positive, constructive and connecting approach
- Fluent in English and Dutch or French, with a good working knowledge of French/Dutch
- Knowledge of Primavera P6, SAP, Power BI and risk management methodologies is an asset

- Onsite Requirement: 2 days per week, 60% remote
- Workload: 100% (Monday to Friday)
- Start: 07.12.2026
- Duration: until 31.12.2027, 13 months
- Non-EU candidates: a valid work permit and residence permit for Belgium are required
