Description
An international company in the energy sector, a European transmission system operator, is looking for a Business Analyst Industrial IoT & Predictive Maintenance for its Assets department in Brussels.
The Business Analyst plays a key role in the digital transformation of the Assets department, which is mainly responsible for the maintenance of the high-voltage grid and the commissioning of grid extensions. The current assignment focuses on projects in remote maintenance and predictive maintenance, with keywords such as Industrial Internet of Things, Machine2Machine, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Besides the classic business analysis tasks, openness to innovative technologies (ICT such as communication and AI, as well as hardware such as sensors, actuators and smart assets) and analysing their potential for the company are essential. You act as the bridge between the business and users on one side and the IT partners (functional analysts, project managers, architects) on the other, challenging all parties and identifying the impact of changes on processes and systems.
Responsibilities
- Model business processes and guide the business in redesigning their processes
- Perform impact analyses
- Develop context diagrams, business domain models and user stories / use cases
- Define the business needs regarding the IT tools supporting these processes, as well as guidelines for using these tools
- Challenge the business regarding their needs and the to-be processes
- Align requirements between business and IT and have them validated
- Validate the functional analysis delivered by IT
- Guide data quality initiatives and data migrations
- After the implementation of a tool: test and validate the releases
- Play an active role in change management, including creating training material and delivering end-user trainings, following the existing change management methodology and toolkit
- Support the business in using the IT tools during post-implementation
- Coordinate closely with the other business analysts, other departments, a group site in Berlin and the end users
Qualifications
- Master's degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent through experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in capturing and describing business needs
- At least 5 years of experience in analysing and modelling business processes
- Trilingual Dutch/French/English
- Experience in modelling the information needs of the business within the processes
- Knowledge of IoT, AI or other relevant technologies is a plus
- Experience with the maintenance of industrial assets is a plus
- Knowledge of drawing up and executing a test plan
- Experience in creating training material for end users
- Strong analytical skills and a sufficiently critical mindset
- Independent, takes initiative and thinks in solutions
- Team player who can bring different parties into line
- Assertive and effective communication with many different stakeholders
- Skilled in planning and organisation
- Customer-oriented and flexible
Project Details
- Location: Brussels, Belgium (Schaerbeek site)
- Work Model: Hybrid
- Onsite Requirement: 2 days per week, 60% remote
- Workload: 100% (Monday to Friday)
- Start: 30.11.2026
- Duration: until 31.12.2027, 13 months, extension possible
- Non-EU candidates: a valid work permit and residence permit for Belgium are required
