Finance Manager Edinburgh - 12 Month Contract

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a large public sector client based in Edinburgh City Centre.

Main Duties include:

. Providing decision support, technical financial advice and reports to budget holders to enable them to effectively manage expenditure for their area of responsibility and be confident that they are fully complying with relevant accounting standards and legislation.
. Working with Senior management/budget holders to deliver efficiency savings and improved standards. Producing the Boards budgets, finance reports and business plans.
. Evaluating all assumptions used in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and assessing associated risks.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

. Be able to demonstrate experience of financial management within a business or related environment, and be expected to very quickly assimilate knowledge of the business area they support.
. Experience of providing complex financial advice to non-specialists and will demonstrate strong judgement and decision-making ability under time pressures.
. Degree level in relevant subject or equivalent experience
. Postgraduate qualification in relevant subject, masters or equivalent experience
. Demonstrable experience of financial management within a business (or related) environment
. Ability to work in a team
. Organisation/administrative skills
. Ability to work with minimal supervision
. Experience of budget management
