Financial Accountant-Edinburgh- 6-months - £ Inside
Parity Group Plc are excited to be partnered with a renowned public sector client of ours based in Edinburgh, who requires an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on an interim basis for a period of 6-months

Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and delivery of the year-end statutory annual accounts ensuring compliance with best practises and current IFRS, FReM, HMT Consolidated Budgetin
- Guidance and SPFM requirements.
- Production and upkeep of annual accounts framework to ensure compliance with all accounting requirements and legislation.
- Roll forward and prepare the underlying files that support the delivery of the year-end accounts
- Gather audit evidence and backup documents and prepare supporting notes for audit review
- Ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place, up to date and operating effectively within the finance team and the wider organisation.
- Provide technical financial expertise to finance and the wider organisation in line with best practice and all current IFRS, FReM and SPFM requirements.
- Review accounting policies and make recommendations to senior management on changes to accounting policies and process change requirements to align with best practice and current IFRS, FReM and SPFM requirements.
- Interface with External Audit when required.
- Interface with other business areas to deliver the product of the annual report and accounts (eg communications team)
- Support senior managers and budget holders by providing specialist advice on key strategic financial management issues including capital accounting, budgeting and forecast outturns, financial planning and risk management.

Technical Skills
- Membership of a CCAB professional body (or equivalent).
- Competent in the use of finance systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word Experience in a senior finance role within the public sector providing effective professional advice.
