Description

Opower is looking for a talented and motivated graphic design contractor to join our Content & Design team for 10-20 hours per week. We want someone who's got outstanding design and production skills and an Owesome attitude. This is a great opportunity for a designer with a focus on social impact who believes you can create real change through good design.

As a graphic design contractor, you'll work under the direction of the Lead Design Strategist and collaborate with the design team to support the design needs of Opower's Consumer Marketing teams.

This position can work remotely.

Responsibilities:

Serve as a production designer, updating materials from our library per client branding needs

Serve as an expert on client brand guidelines and provide all necessary assets to whitelabel our products on behalf of our clients

Serve as the final quality checker to see that files are packaged and ready to be delivered to the printer, where they'll print at volumes well above the 100,000s

Collaborate with copywriters, behavioral science experts, and program strategists to take consumer-facing, utility-branded collateral from concept to final production.

Create new designs to enhance our existing utility-branded products such as Home Energy Reports and Welcome Letters

About You:

3+ years of related experience creating marketing brochures, campaign collateral, environmental graphics, and corporate identity elements, and other products using the latest technologies

A BA or BFA in design or related field from a top university

Ability and desire to work independently and serve as a point of contact for design projects

Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

Working knowledge of four-color printing, contemporary web practices and large-format printing

Digital Illustration skills are a plus

Your portfolio has a clean, iconic, borderline minimalist design aesthetic. You geek out over grid systems and have a strong appreciation for good typography. You pay extremely close attention to detail -- you find yourself critiquing movie posters, advertisements, and menus when you go out with your friends.
