The opportunity to work within a prestigious EU institution as a GIS Senior Analyst and Developer makes this a fantastic opportunity.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:

Roles and responsibilities:

The tasks will include:
Development of Web GIS applications on SharePoint 2010;
Perform code writing, review and static code analysis;
Adaptation of the existing code, removal or replacement of components;
Identify functional/logic views for software development;
Collaborate with others to review and conceptualise the appropriate data access protocols to the Geodatabase;
Collaborate to write the code required to implement IT/GIS Tools/Modules
Implement the IT/GIS Tools/Modules, design and apply Test Cases to deliver the software
Write the technical documentation
Modularize the system to address re-usability of components and tools;
Support the integration of new systems into the existing environment.
Identify the cause of bugs, document and develop long term solutions;
Update user interface, reports and business logic;
Create and/or maintain support documentation;
Production support and application maintenance.
Integration with other applications and production of technical documentation.
Performance of any necessary modification before the release of the application

General competencies:
Minimum 4 Years IT Experience
Knowledge of the following standards: Web Feature Services (WFS), Web Map Services (WMS), Shapefile
Strong knowledge of data classification/summarisation algorithms for GIS and their implementations
Extensive experience in developing SOAP/REST web services
Programming experience in .NET Framework 3.5 (C#, VB.NET, Silverlight 4, ASP.NET, EF), Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server
Extensive experience in technical documentation writing
Experience in agile development methods, including Test Driven Development
Excellent knowledge of ArcGIS API for Silverlight, ArcGIS for SharePoint, ArcGIS Server 10
Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
Knowledge of test reporting and issue tracking using Team Foundation Server )
Strong familiarity with the EU INSPIRE directive
Extensive experience in UML modelling and OOP design
Proven experience in developing Enterprise GIS solutions for Public Health and Epidemiology in International Organizations

Language skills:
Good Command of English, both Oral and Written

Contract
The initial contract is for 60 working days, beginning in July 2012 with an option to extend if deemed necessary.
