GIS Specialist
Brief Overview
My client, based in Dorset, is looking for GIS Specialist with 3 - 5+ years commercial experience using ESRI ArcGIS skills that is able to:
Essential Skills:
Have experience managing a team of Junior GIS Technicians
Attend meetings at various client sites across UK
Carry out advanced analysis on a wide range of datasets
Accurately and efficiently capture data from both online and paper maps
Create presentation quality maps
Maintaining and discovering national agency datasets
Experience using various Ordnance Survey mapping
Ability to multitask and delegate work accordingly
Full clean UK driving licence
The individual(s) must be proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Attention to detail and excellent presentation and written skills are essential.
Desirable Skills:
Use of other GIS systems (Mapinfo, QGIS, Global Mapper, FME, etc)
Experience working with Postgres/Postgis or other databases with spatial aspect
Web mapping experience. Either creating or maintaining
Experience with referencing, infrastructure projects or other NSIP work.
Ideally you will have been working in public or private sector using GIS for 3+ years or in a related field.
Position is initially for 6 months and depending on the success, would be extended.
