Currently, we are seeking a highly passionate, driven, and talented PHP developer to assist our team. This is a freelance potion moving onto a full time virtual placement in the future . We class this as a Virtual role simply as you will be working remotely.
We have projects with intimidate start therefore someone with availability right away is preferred.
Due to the virtual environment we work in, this person will have to be responsible for managing their time wisely and making deadlines in lieu of the possible distractions this type of environment can bring. This person will be responsible for pushing the limits of ExpressionEngine and developing custom functionality that enhances the user experience of a website. You will be responsible for building reusable modules, add-ons, and websites using ExpressionEngine’s incredible flexibility. We expect you to know how to code to the current standards. This person will be strictly a developer and will be given finalised PSD Designs ready for slicing and developing onto EE.
It is important to note that while we are a virtual company we try to keep normal business hours except when working late to meet a deadline as necessary. We expect to be able to contact you via Skype during business hours if and when we need you and we expect you to be available to move on an emergency change immediately.
Required Skills:
- At least 5 years proven experience building dynamic web applications using PHP/MySQL, Magento, Wordpress and ExpressionEngine CMS.
- Solid understanding of JavaScript; experience building JavaScript-based apps that utilize AJAX and DOM manipulation.
- Understand how to use version control (Git) and how best to work as a member of a team of programmers in a virtual environment.
- Front end skills (HTML5/CSS3) and the ability to take the PSDs provided by Creative and make them into cross browser compatible websites in a timely fashion.
Nice To Have:
- Experience building add-ons for Magento
- Experience building highly custom add-ons for ExpressionEngine.
- SEO Experience
- Experience with CodeIgniter and / or Symphony
- Experience with Responsive Development
This is a virtual, freelance position and while the majority of us are located in the Rochester in Kent UK area that is not a requirement.
We are preferably looking for candidates within the UK for immediate start but further afiled is OK.
