IMS DBA Role
Excellent Dublin Based client is looking for a IMS DBA. The role is for a minimum 6 months.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of the DBA team the individual will be required to support the IMS DB environment.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Production IMS database capacity monitoring and tuning
- Production IMS database performance analysis
- Deployment and migration of DB objects and application objects through the test and development environments & production implementation
- Engage with technical infrastructure support teams and Application Development teams in performance and problem resolution and application design and development
- SME support of the IMS DB Utilities
- Support currency of IMS DB and Utilities.
Essential Experience/Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of IMS Fast Path DEDB
- Expertise in IMS Fast Path Utilities
- Strong IMS TM skill
- DL/I performance analysis and tuning skills
- Expertise in IBM Mainframe JCL
- Change Management skills
Key Competencies:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and to provide technical leadership to the team.
- Team Lead skills
- Work and collaborate with other technical teams in the support of the environment
- At least 10 years IMS DBA (Fast Path) DBA experience
