Description
Laboratory scientist position responsible for the design, execution, analysis and interpretation of behavioral pharmacology studies in support of research programs. Research focus is in the areas of pain and sensory disorders as well as motor and safety studies. Performs all aspects of rodent testing, including behavioral testing, dosing, surgeries and tissue collection. Exercises independent judgment in determining appropriate assays, methods and procedures to obtain results and is expected to contribute to the validation of new assays. Provide support to the vivarium animal care program, to include animal husbandry and occasional weekend animal checks. Position requires the ability to excel in a collaborative environment, working well as an integral part of a team.

Rodent handling and dosing skills (oral, intravenous, subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, intraplantar). Rodent husbandry skills. Knowledge of experimental design, statistical analysis skills.
