Description
6 month plus contract for an Information Architect with Dimensional and Datawarehouse DBA experience.
Duties include:
- Providing support to translate the Business Requirements into Datamart/Datawarehouse/Operational Data Store Design to support the various Smartgrid projects.
- Communicating the Business Intelligence Concepts and design best practices to the application project team members
- Recommending best practices standards and policies with regards to database design, architecture, development, and data management as they apply to BI/DW
- Prior Experience is required on large scale High Volume Datawarehouse Design and be familiar with Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) Design concepts
- Information Architect must be able to envision the relevance of data and translate the business reporting requirements into logical and physical data models (dimensions & facts) and capture the associated meta-data.
- Identify the data sources needed to support the report requirements and perform data mapping as needed and document current state reporting architecture and define the future state Business Intelligence reporting architecture.
- Planning, coordination and administering functions in support of the BI/DW database environments including database definitions, structures, documentation, data standards and performance
- Providing technical expertise to aid the development and administration of the overall BI/DW database and data management architecture and strategy
- Providing hands-on technical knowledge & leadership working with the business analysts, infrastructure teams, architects and developers in support of all BI/DW initiatives
- Experience with Dimensional Modeling (star/snowflake schema design) is required
- Experience with the ERWin data modelling is required
- Experience with Business Objects XI, Informatica Environment is desired
- DBA experience with implementation of data warehouses natively in Oracle 11 without using Oracle warehouse tools is a strong plus
Local candidates preferred. Must be able to work w-2 hourly no Corp. to Corp. allowed.
