Our Client is seeking an experienced external leader to establish and implement an enterprise-wide Data Governance
Operating Model as part of its ongoing Data and AI transformation journey.
The role will be positioned within the IT Governance organization. We are not looking for a traditional Data Scientist or
Analytics Lead, but for an experienced Data Governance professional with both strategic vision and hands-on
implementation capabilities.
Build and operationalize enterprise-wide Data Governance as a foundation for Data and AI.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing, among others:
• Data Governance Operating Model
• Data Domains
• Data Owner & Data Steward Organization
• Data Governance Boards and Committees
• Data Quality Management
• Data Dictionary and Metadata Management
• Data Policies, Standards and Governance Processes
• Governance structures to sustainably scale Data and AI initiatives
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement the enterprise-wide Data Governance Framework
• Establish the Data Governance organization and governance bodies
• Define Data Domains and Governance Structures
• Introduce a Data Ownership model including Data Owners and Data Stewards
• Coach and enable business stakeholders in their governance roles
• Establish an Enterprise Data Dictionary and Business Glossary
• Introduce Data Quality KPIs and Data Quality processes
• Define Governance Standards, Policies and Control Mechanisms
• Facilitate cross-functional governance decisions and align stakeholders
• Drive executive alignment with the CIO, CAIO, Business Leadership and other key stakeholders
• Build a sustainable governance community and transition ownership into the line organization
Desired Profile
• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management or Enterprise Architecture (with a focus on Data
Architecture)
• Proven track record in establishing Data Governance organizations within industrial environments
• Experience with Data Ownership, Data Stewardship and Data Quality Frameworks
• Experience with Data Catalogues, Metadata Management and Data Governance tools
• Experience designing and implementing Operating Models and Governance Structures
• Strong background in Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance or IT Governance
• Experience in international corporations or mid-sized organizations with complex organizational structures
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to drive change at management and executive level

Ideal Candidate
Former Head of Data Governance, Chief Data Officer, Chief Data & Information Officer, or Senior Principal Consultant
with a proven track record of successfully establishing Data Governance organizations in international industrial
companies.
Important
We are deliberately not looking for a pure Analytics, BI or Data Science Manager. Instead, we seek an experienced Data
Governance Leader with CDO-level exposure who is capable of building and implementing a sustainable Data
Governance function both strategically and operationally.
