THE JOB:

Providing IT/Desktop Support to one of CompuCom's customers in the Anchorage area. We need a strong computer professional who is able to prioritize responsibilities and maintain a positive relationship with various personalities and who exhibits a can-do, "See the job, do the job" attitude.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair computer hardware and software issues
  • Install PC's, laptops, monitors, personal printers, IP telephones, etc., as needed to support local user requirements
  • Provide application support to all Staff members for Microsoft Office Applications, Windows Vista environment and other associated business software applications
  • Maintain inventory of all computer equipment and assets to ensure accountability
  • Act as a liaison between Executives and Help Desk support personnel in order to expedite problem resolutions
  • Maintain professional behavior in all environments: office, meetings, conferences, and home support
  • Remain aware of the sensitivities of working with business confidential information whether it be verbal or written (confidentiality agreements need to be signed)
  • Practice Customer Excellence behaviors
  • Record, track, escalate and update requests through established systems

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
  • Knowledge of joining multiple spreadsheets, to include and exclude datasets as required
  • Thorough understanding of Outlook Data File management and Outlook's calendaring tool
  • A+ certification
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to provide consistent, excellent customer support to entire Staff, representing a variety of personalities and management levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate must be detail oriented and self-motivating
  • Physical requirement: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Background security check and signed confidentiality agreements
  • Safety consciousness
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card eligible

Preferred Skills:

  • HP Accredited Platform Specialist (APS) Certification - HP Commercial Desktops, Workstations, Notebooks and Printers
  • Collaboration experience including Microsoft NetMeeting and video conferencing knowledge
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to work through issues without prior experience/knowledge
