IT EDiscovery & Litigation Support Specialist
Client is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of IT EDiscovery & Litigation Support Specialist.
In this role, the IT EDiscovery & litigation support specialist will perform collection, preservation and processing of Electronically Stored Information (ESI) in support of litigation, investigation and other electronic discovery matters.
Responsibilities:
- Performs data acquisition and preservation utilizing forensically sound methodologies in support of litigation, legal holds, investigations and agency actions
- Forensic analysis, processing and tracking of collected data - media logging, chain of custody, hashing/integrity and similar processes
- Helps facilitate the distribution and tracking of preservation hold notices, questionnaires, and hold releases
- Provides summary reports and statuses to the IT EDiscovery and Litigation Support Manager as necessary
- Provides assistance to the Records and Information Management (RIM) team in creating data maps and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the information
- Serves as first-line support for counsel providing technical assistance and expertise
- Provides training when appropriate
- Various other tasks in support of forensics and collection efforts
Requirements:
- 2 or more years' previous experience in an Information technology role such as end user compute support, application installation/support, information security and or litigation support
- 2 or more years' previous information forensics and electronic discovery experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Business, Legal Studies, Information Systems or related fields
- Strong understanding of the EDiscovery process and methodology (EDRM)
- Firm understanding of Chain of Custody procedures; forensic best practices, and evidence handling and preservation
- Experience with litigation support and data processing software such as IPRO eCapture, NUIX, LAW, Relativity, Clearwell, Concordance
- Experience in the use of forensic tools such as EnCase, Forensic Toolkit or SMART
- In-depth knowledge of access permissions across multiple environments - Microsoft, Unix, Linux and potentially others
- Experience with accessing, recovering and collecting data that has been encrypted
- Experience with ROBOCOPY, xxCOPY and/or other similar CLI copy tools, PowerShell or similar Scripting languages a plus.
- Accuracy and attention to detail in all situations, endeavors and assigned tasks
- Clear understanding and recognition that work schedule is ultimately determined by attorney needs, and may involve after-hours, weekends and significant amount of travel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- EDiscovery certifications desired
