Description
This is a 6 month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Install new software releases/updates into production
- Conduct reviews of application release notes to identify potential problems
- Monitor production environments for assigned applications and work to resolve abends
- TSG Ticket resolution - 2nd level support
- Automate application monitoring and alarming
- Develop, repair and enhance operations scripts
- Assist in the gathering of metrics to track and report performance trends
- Provide technical expertise and system knowledge to Production Support personnel
- Participate on a rotation pager schedule that provides system support on a 24 x 7, 365 days/year
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Operations Support or Production Support
- Basic knowledge of telecommunication and wireless industry
- 5+ years of experience working with Solaris and/or Redhat Linux
- 5+ years of experience working with Sun One Application, Web and Proxy Servers
- 5+ years of experience working with Unix Shell Scripting
- 5+ years of experience writing complex PL/SQL queries
- General knowledge of Network and VPN and be able to distinguish between application vs network problems
Any experience with the following would be a plus, but are not mandatory:
- Weblogic server
- Oracle WebCenter
- Veritas Cluster Server
- LDAP
