Senior Software Engineer (Java) – Contract Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on a contract basis. This role is focused on maintaining and improving backend systems that support large-scale, high-traffic platforms. This is a hands-on engineering position where you’ll contribute to core services, APIs, and infrastructure in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and maintaining backend services using Java
- Working on API integrations with external partners
- Supporting and improving high-load production systems
- Troubleshooting and resolving live incidents
- Contributing to system design and architectural improvements
- Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with Java backend development
- Solid understanding of API design and distributed systems
- Experience working in high-traffic environments
- Familiarity with Spring Boot
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
Bonus:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud)
Working Setup
- 40 hours per week
- Hybrid model with 2 days onsite per week (Amsterdam)
