This is for a boutique hotel in New Mexico, USA. Website will serve as front desk for a 7-room overnight stay Inn.I will set up hosting / maps / reviews / etc. I will provide content. I just need a well designed WordPress e-commerce site that I can install on the server, in the following pattern:
WordPress / Woocommerce+Stripe / Custom Hotel Bookings Plug-in. Good mobile implementation, good SEO practices for Google Maps Hotel. Simple to use for guests who will purchase room online, and receive electronic door-entry 5 digit code upon payment via e-mail.
Each room has an electronic door lock with code entry. Electronic door locks are not networked. They each contain up to six codes, 4-9 length numerical codes, programmed ahead of time. Electronic Locks will be maintained by Housekeeping. Housekeeping will visit the location after each guest checks out, and then update the door lock with new codes, ready for new customers. The new codes will have to be provided by the application you design. Whether these codes can be provided to housekeeping by e-mail alone, or by a web application that housekeeping can use, I am not sure.
When a customer buys one night stay, but decides to stay another night, they will simply purchase another night off the website. However, the website would send them a new door code. This will confuse customer. Customer should only have 1 door code to use whether staying 1 night or 3. In essense, the customer will have their own code for the duration of their stay. Checkout will have to be managed with this in mind.
- Would like e-mail to customer with 5 digit unique entry code for their Electronic Check-In
- Would like e-mail to Housekeeping notifying them that Customer has Checked-In and when is scheduled to Check-Out, so that Housekeeping can plan their work.
- Would like customer to have only 1 door entry code during their entire stay, whether they schedule a block of days ahead of time, or if they purchase the nights one by one, extending their stay each day.
My intention was to edit a php plugin which is free & open source, called WP Hotel Bookings, in order to improve it slightly and add the electronic door-code functionality. Whether hacking this plugin is sane or going a different route is better, please advise.
