Job Introduction
The Software Asset Manager will be an individual working to ensure the organization's compliance position across all areas.
Role Responsibility
As a Software Asset Manager, you must:
- Ensure accurate compliance of software, responding to both vendor and internal audits within expected timelines.
- Do re-harvesting and appropriate procurement of licenses to ensure not only compliance but cost efficiency across the company.
- Be experienced in completion of vendor audits, including major suppliers.
- IAITAM qualified with ITIL qualifications desirable.
- Administer the tools and technologies as required to support recording of license entitlement and re-harvesting.
- Support SAM in the population of the CMDB and auditing to maintain accuracy.
- Respond to queries on entitlement, process and governance via the centralized mailbox.
- Govern, adhere, and support the processes for SAM.
- Maintain Configuration Items naming conventions, identification standards for object types, environment, processes, etc.
- Manage agreed interfaces with the Change and Configuration Management team and other users of the CMDB.
- Management of Software Organizer library and its data, ensuring housekeeping and maintenance is undertaken.
- Work with governance, performance and reporting to ensure suitable data and status reports are produced on schedule.
The Ideal Candidate qualification
- Proven ability to identify and improve performance measurement and reporting processes in a large organization
- Experience of creating and distributing comprehensive reports from a number of sources back to the business.
- Demonstrable ability to handle large data and summarize complex reports to present to non-specialists.
- Experience of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams with a delivery focus in both project and operational environments.
- Comfortable with using technology as a communication medium - Intranet, Wiki's.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Professional including Word, PowerPoint, Excel (advanced skills) and diagramming tools for data analytics.
- Excellent spoken and written Business English skills and the ability to write clear and concise text for different audiences.
- A wide experience of flexible and proactive information gathering.
- Experience of creating and interpreting monthly reporting stats.
- Strong personal organisation skills and ability to manage own time to meet deadlines.
- Ability and confidence to take charge of diverse tasks and deliver high quality work in a challenging and ever-changing environment.
- Effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload under pressure from a high volume of work and conflicting priorities
- A flexible approach to adapt to changing deadlines.
