Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in London, initially until April 2017 offering up to £250 per day Ltd.
Main Duties:
Knowledge of web technology for marketing and PR purposes, including CMS, social networks/blogs and online advertising
Good knowledge of marketing communications techniques, including online and social media communications
Good knowledge of best practice in relation to media management
Good understanding of research techniques
Good proven written communication skills, with experience of writing for a variety of audiences, including board/executive team reports, strategies, web copy, public-facing documents, media statements etc
Ability to deliver results by directing the activities of others and/or using a range of levers in the absence of direct line management responsibility
Proven ability to develop relationships with clients and a range of stakeholders
Essential Experience:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Minimum of five years experience of working in communications.
Experience of creating and delivering marketing campaigns
Experience of developing relationships with the media to ensure reputational damage is limited and PR opportunities are maximised
Experience of working with content management systems
Excellent writing skills
Effective planning to meet the needs of the transition communications team
Accurate and timely delivery of communications actions and products
Effective relationship management with senior executives and other key staff across the two CSUs
Ability to provide advice and support to protect and enhance the CSUs reputation through: strong relationships with key opinion formers; effective and timely communications activity; and the provision of high-quality public-facing communications materials
Political awareness
Extensive writing experience
Experience of working with suppliers (designers, printers etc)
Experience of working stakeholders
Good understanding of corporate identity
Good IT skills
Experience of working in communications in the NHS is desirable.
