Job Description

I am currently representing a fantastic company who work with some of the biggest Aerospace manufacturers in the world. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The candidate must have previous experience within the Aerospace sector and ideally have worked on Aircraft structures.
The ideal candidate would have worked with Composite Design, however this experience is not essential if you'd like to apply for this position.

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design aircraft structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Catia or 3DExperience.
  • Conduct structural analyses and simulations to validate designs and identify potential improvements.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide support during the fabrication and assembly processes.

Requirements for the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in aerospace mechanical design, with a focus on aircraft structures.
  • Proficient in CAD software, particularly Catia or 3DExperience.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.

Desirable

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with other relevant software tools used in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certifications for aerospace structures.
  • T200, Design Approval or Design Authorisation highly desirable
