Alliance Scientific Solutions is looking for a Contract Mechanical Engineer for a plastic injection molding company near Solon, OH
Pay Range $30-$35/HOUR
Summary of Job:
Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Responsibilities for Mechanical Engineer
- Jointly develops and implements strategies in coordination with top management to continuously improve the productivity and efficiency of work processes resulting in cost-savings for the organization.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, or maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems or processes to meet requirements.
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement projects and obtaining all necessary assistance through cross-functional teams to assure effective and sustainable implementation.
- Makes process improvement and implementation a top priority by maintaining a hands-on approach with regular monitoring of projects.
- Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs
- Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions
- Provides production and tooling engineering support by assisting with problem identification and determining corrective action.
Requirements for the Mechanical Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with 5 years experience.
- Must possess superior analytical and technical skills, energy, strong leadership and team building abilities.
- Effective interpersonal skill. Able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Hands-on expertise in the scientific understanding of the injection molding process, mold making and metrology and up-to-date on the industry's technology.
- Understanding of the allocation of resources, both financial and human.
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and have the ability to prioritize, plan and organize multiple projects.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
- interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form.
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D solid modelling software, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to stand, walk, use hands & fingers, reaching with hands & arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb
- Requires good vision (close, color, peripheral and depth) correctable to 20x40
