Overview:We are looking for a mechanical engineer with proven technical, leadership skills, to undertake a variety of roles related to the design and development of laboratory automation and instrumentation within Sample Management Group.

Qualifications:
The following characteristics are essential:
A good degree (1st or 2.1) in mechanical engineering from a leading university.
Experience of managing engineering design and development of laboratory products or automation systems
Experience of taking your designs from concepts through to successful commercialisation
Practical experience with mechanisms and machine elements
The following are desirable:
Experience in using 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
Experience in the preparation of requirements specifications, project planning and reporting.
Industrial design skills and /or DFMA skills would be an advantage
Personal qualities will include:
A self-starter - able to use initiative and take responsibility. Organised and thorough.
Creative but pragmatic and self-critical.
Good communicator - both with teams and customers.
Enthusiasm and determination.
