Mongo DBA - Senior Systems Developer

LOCATION:

Duluth, GA

DESCRIPTION:

This is an exciting opportunity in the digital interactive TV industry working with hardware and software integration platforms for new interactive digital TV applications. The Sr. Mongo DBA reports to the Manager, System Integration at Ericsson. You will be responsible for all aspects of Mongo implementation for product deliverables that utilize MongoDB as the persistent data store. In addition you will assist in reviewing collections, sharding models and queries for the product. This is a high impact position that is critical to helping Ericsson maintain high availability and high quality products delivered to cable and Telco operators.

Job Responsibilities:
Architecting, implementing, performance tuning and troubleshooting all aspects of Mongo DB as part of the MDMS product offering.
Architect and Implement Mongo replica set/sharding model to best fit application performance, reliability and usage.
Define and implement backup and recovery strategies
Work closely with development on implementation of queries, collections and documents.
Implement Mongo Performance best practices
Upgrade Mongo software to latest patch releases and revisions
Keep updated on new capabilities in MongoDB and how those might improve our ability to service customers
Work with documentation team to ensure any issues effecting functionality are properly reflected in documentation
Provide 24X7 on-call support for Production related MongoDB related issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing large-scale, geographically-distributed database systems, including relational (MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) systems.
1-3 years of experience with MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or an in-depth understanding of MongoDB HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding.
3-5 years of UNIX/Linux must be capable of diagnosing performance issues and Kernel tuning
3-5 years of experience with Scripting and automation, using common database Scripting languages and libraries (SQL, Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)
3-5 years of networking experience, TCP/IP, Routers, bridge, VLAN and load balancers
Understanding database normalization and denormalization
